Circle of Security Training

A Relationship-Based Parenting Program

ABOUT: At times all parents feel overwhelmed with not knowing what their child might need from them. Imagine what it might feel like if they were able to make sense of what their child was really asking from them. The Circle of Security Parenting™ program is based on decades of research about how secure parent-child relationships can be supported and strengthened.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Understand your child’s emotional world by learning to read the emotional needs
Support your child’s ability to successfully manage emotions
Enhance the development of your child's self esteem
Honor your innate wisdom and desire for your child to be secure

PROGRAM DETAILS:

Offered: upon request; individually or in group format (maximum 8 participants)

Program Length: 8 weeks. Each session is 1.5 hours in length

Location: offered virtually or at the Barrantes & Associates Inc. Clinic & Centre in Fergus, ON.

COST: $19.99 per parent

Childcare is provided at no cost for in-person groups. Each participant will receive a certificate of attendance upon completion of the course.

Peer Support Group (Substance Use)

ABOUT: A supportive space where individuals can discuss topics around substance use recovery and relapse prevention. This group will focus on discussions, education, self-reflection on your own journey through substance use and will connect individuals with additional resources helpful to one's recovery.

PROGRESSIVE RECOVERY METHODS: Recovering from substance use while using the ‘one size fits all’ approach does not get to the root of the issue. Our program offers a supportive group environment that includes orientation, follow-up and opportunities to connect with practitioners on a one-to-one basis.

SERVICES: A ten-week program for youth experiencing substance use. Our group offers education from a variety of sources on topics such as: dealing with triggers, how to plan for success and leading a healthy lifestyle.

Safe Management Group Training

"Recognized by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services and endorsed by Public Service Health and Safety Association, and Workplace Safety Prevention Services, Safe Management Group’s Crisis Intervention Training Programs are designed to meet the individual training needs within educational settings.

Developed by a team of psychologists, behaviour analysts/therapists and physical intervention specialists, Safe Management Group’s Crisis Intervention Training program uses evidence-based practices and techniques that are customized to address the unique behaviour and safety risks associated with working with children, youth and adults.

Participants who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate of completion."
